Faraday Road, Hereford

Popular care scheme progressing with planners

Innovative plans for a state of the art retirement village at Faraday Road in Hereford are progressing. Outstanding details are currently under discussion with the council and firm details for a start on this much needed facility will be announced when available.

Background

The site was purchased in 2003 by Bovale.  After extensive remediation work had been carried out a planning application was submitted in 2006 for a retirement village. This application was refused and the decision was upheld at a public local inquiry in 2007.

Bovale has since been in discussion with Herefordshire Council and the Edgar Street Grid to try and resolve the issues stopping this strategic site being redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Hereford.

30 June 2010 - Bovale are delighted that plans have been approved, at planning committee, by Councillors.

Project summary
The proposed retirement village will create up to 140 jobs and important training opportunities as well:
