The site was purchased in 2003 by Bovale. After extensive remediation work had been carried out a planning application was submitted in 2006for a retirement village. This application was refused and the decision was upheld at a public local inquiry in 2007.
Bovale has since been in discussion with Herefordshire Council and the Edgar Street Grid to try and resolve the issues stopping this strategic site being redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Hereford.
